Before you get too excited, though, there are some things you need to know:

  1. They are not historicals.

  2. They are not big fat books.

  3. They are NOT
    sweet-and-wholesome.

Why all the secrecy?

Because they aren’t sweet and wholesome. These books were written for a completely different market. A romance market that reads all the things—and I mean all the things. My books might “fade-to-black” but I take the readers way further than anything Deeanne would do in her books. These characters swear. They sleep around. They live in the moment.

So: readers beware

You can also ask me about this live and in person. The 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, my alter ego holds an open-mic, audio-only, virtual get-together with my readers. There’s no agenda. Nothing planned. We just sit around and visit.

For those of you who are unable to read in this genre, I’m sorry I don’t have a new Deeanne Gist book for you. These contemporary, mainstream rom-coms are what I’m writing now and what I plan to continue writing for a long time to come. I have many reasons for this. Some of which I’m willing to share, and some I’m not.

But whether you read the new books or not, you are still invited to subscribe to Dakota’s newsletters. They are video newsletters and when I make them, I picture you, my reader, sitting across from me, curled up with a cup of coffee and a snuggle blanket. Then, I simply visit with you.

And so you know, from here on out, Deeanne will very rarely send out newsletters. For now, she has hung up her hat to make room for her new alter ego.
